Frequently Asked Questions

A virtual gender reveal is a modern way to share your baby's gender with friends and family who can't physically attend your celebration. Using RevealTogether's platform, you can create an interactive online experience with a synchronized countdown, live reactions, and a magical reveal moment that everyone can enjoy together, no matter where they are in the world.

A virtual gender reveal offers several unique advantages over traditional in-person events:

• Connects family members across any distance
• No geographic limitations for who can participate
• Often more cost-effective than hosting a physical party
• Creates a digital keepsake you can save forever
• Allows for creative reveal methods that might be difficult in person

The core excitement and joy of sharing your baby's gender remains the same, but a virtual reveal makes it accessible to everyone you love, regardless of location.

Most parents host their gender reveal between 18-22 weeks of pregnancy, after their anatomy scan ultrasound when the baby's gender can be determined with high accuracy. However, you can schedule your virtual reveal whenever works best for you and your family. Some parents prefer to wait until closer to 20 weeks to ensure more accuracy, while others may have genetic testing results earlier in their pregnancy and choose to reveal sooner.

Absolutely! Many of our users report that their virtual gender reveal was even more special than they anticipated. The ability to see everyone's reactions simultaneously, the build-up of the synchronized countdown, and the shared experience creates a uniquely emotional moment. Plus, our platform records these reactions, giving you a precious keepsake of this special time that you wouldn't necessarily capture at an in-person event.

We recommend creating your RevealTogether event 1-2 weeks before your planned reveal date. This gives you plenty of time to:

• Customize your reveal page with personal touches
• Send invitations to all participants
• Allow guests to submit their predictions
• Collect early messages and wishes
• Help any less tech-savvy family members prepare

Our platform allows you to set up everything in advance while keeping the gender information secure until the big moment. You can create your reveal in as little as 10 minutes, but giving yourself a bit more lead time ensures a stress-free experience.

To set up your virtual gender reveal, you'll need:

• The date and time you want to host your reveal
• Baby's gender (if you already know it) or instructions for using Trustee Mode
• Any personal message you want to display to guests
• Optional: A profile photo or other images you'd like to include
• Email addresses or phone numbers of guests (for sending invitations)

Our setup wizard will guide you through each step, and you can save your progress and come back later if needed.

RevealTogether makes it easy to manage guests across different time zones:

• When you set your reveal time, our system automatically converts it to each participant's local time
• Invitation emails and reminders show the event time in the recipient's time zone
• The countdown timer on your reveal page displays correctly for each viewer, regardless of location
• You can optionally display a world clock showing the event time in multiple key time zones

When choosing your reveal time, consider finding a time that works reasonably well across all time zones where you have participants. For global families, weekend mornings for US participants often work well as evening times for European or Asian participants.

Trustee Mode allows you to be surprised by the gender reveal along with your guests. Here's how it works:

• During setup, select "Trustee Mode" and provide the email of your trusted person
• This person receives a special link to privately enter the gender information
• Only they will know the gender until the reveal moment
• You set up everything else about the reveal without seeing the gender information
• At the reveal time, everyone (including you) discovers the gender together

Common trustees include your doctor, ultrasound technician, close friend, or family member. They'll need to have internet access to enter the information securely.

We've designed RevealTogether to be extremely user-friendly, even for those who aren't tech-savvy. Here are some tips for helping older relatives:

• Send them our one-page "Easy Access Guide" (printable PDF) with simple instructions
• Schedule a quick video call a few days before to help them test the link
• Ask a tech-comfortable family member who lives nearby to assist them
• Remind them that they just need to click the link - no accounts or downloads
• Encourage them to join 15 minutes early on the day of the reveal

Many of our users report that grandparents and older relatives who were initially hesitant ended up loving the experience and found it much easier than expected.

For less tech-savvy participants, we generally recommend using a tablet (like an iPad) for the best balance of simplicity and good viewing experience. Tablets offer:

• Larger screen than phones for easier visibility
• Touch interface that's more intuitive than computers for many older adults
• Simple web browser experience with no downloads required
• Portability so someone can help set it up

That said, any device they're already comfortable using will work fine. The most important factor is using a device they're already familiar with, rather than introducing new technology on the day of your reveal.

While RevealTogether is primarily a web-based platform, we understand that some family members may not have reliable internet access. For these situations:

• You can set up a regular phone call and put it on speaker during the reveal
• Another option is having a tech-comfortable relative host them at their home
• Some families arrange small "satellite" gatherings where multiple people watch together
• If they have a mobile phone with data, that can work even without home internet

After the reveal, you can also share the recorded video via email or even mail a USB drive with the recording for those who couldn't participate online.

RevealTogether is designed to be accessible for participants with varying abilities:

• The reveal experience is primarily visual, with the gender revealed through colors and animation
• All important information is displayed as text on screen
• Audio elements are supplementary, not essential to understand what's happening
• Captions can be enabled for any video elements

For participants with hearing difficulties, the visual nature of our platform actually makes it particularly accessible. They won't miss any crucial part of the experience, as the gender reveal itself is displayed prominently with both color and text.

RevealTogether offers multiple creative ways to reveal your baby's gender:

• Classic color reveal (animated blue or pink design)
• Digital confetti explosion in the appropriate color
• Text reveal with custom animation
• Countdown to image reveal (upload your own ultrasound or custom graphic)
• Interactive "open the envelope" experience
• Gradual color fill as the countdown reaches zero

All reveal methods are fully customizable with your preferred colors, messaging, and timing. You can preview each option before making your selection.

Yes! After your gender reveal moment, RevealTogether automatically:

• Saves a complete recording of the reveal moment
• Captures screenshots of participant reactions
• Creates a highlights reel of the best moments
• Compiles all messages and well-wishes from guests
• Generates a shareable link to the reveal replay

This digital keepsake is available to download and share after the event. You'll have permanent access to your reveal recording and all associated memories through your RevealTogether account.

RevealTogether offers several ways for guests to actively participate:

• Prediction voting (Team Boy/Team Girl) before the reveal
• Live reaction buttons during the countdown and reveal
• Video reactions that capture their expressions at the moment of reveal
• Message board for sharing congratulations and well-wishes
• Photo and video uploads to a shared gallery
• Post-reveal celebration activities and games

These interactive elements create an engaging experience that goes beyond passive watching, making everyone feel involved in your special moment regardless of distance.

Our standard package supports up to 100 simultaneous participants, which is sufficient for most family reveals. For larger events, our platform scales seamlessly:

• Standard package: Up to 100 participants
• Extended family package: Up to 250 participants
• Community celebration package: Up to 500 participants

There's no limit to how many invitation links you can send out, and people who can't attend the live event can still watch the replay later. Our system is optimized to maintain smooth performance even with maximum attendance.

RevealTogether has three one-time plans: Intimate $7.99 (10 participation seats), Celebration $19.99 (150 seats, all themes — the one most families pick) and Grand $29.99 (unlimited seats). No subscription, no hidden fees, and everyone you invite watches live on any plan.

Every plan includes the live countdown page, guest voting, the synchronized reveal moment and a shareable link that works on any device with no app. Celebration and Grand add the full theme collection; plans differ in how many guests can vote — everyone can always watch.
